Who is affected?

If you suffer from poor quality of sleep, you're not alone. One third of all people with sleep apnea are women. In the USA alone, 7 million women have sleep apnea.2, 3
Sleep apnea can affect women of any age. Most commonly, however, it affects women around and after menopause.1
The risk is increased by being overweight or obese. However, not everyone with sleep apnea is overweight.
Sleep apnea is also associated with conditions such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, heart failure and stroke. Studies show that sleep apnea increases the risk of motor vehicle and work related accidents.1
If you are in any of the above groups, or feel you may have any of the signs and symptoms of sleep apnea, please talk to your doctor.
