"Before I got treatment for my sleep apnea I felt really tired and lazy. I couldn't sit in a chair without falling asleep. If I was reading, I couldn't get to the end of the page. I could even have kids yelling beside me and I'd be asleep. It was hard to have the energy to work. And when you're tired, you're cranky.
I think women are so busy looking after everyone else, they often put their own needs last. But what you have to realize is that by looking after yourself, you're looking after your family as well. Now that I'm being treated, the sky's the limit. I have so much more energy for everything.
I spend a lot more time with my family—we're always out in the backyard playing softball. I'm going to the gym. And I have rediscovered a social life, which is brilliant. I feel like I'm a kid again.
They say life begins at 40. I say life begins after you get a good night's sleep."
